general personality;; Ian is usually very upbeat and outgoing. He tends to smile and laugh at lot and makes a lot of jokes. He's the kind of guy that's usually surrounded by people because everyone always seems to migrate towards him. He's easy to get along with, and makes everyone's happiness his priority.
However, just like everyone else, he has a tick. Seeing someone hurt someone else has always been that one button that sets him off in a rage. He's been like this since Sabine's boyfriend beat her. He's like this about animals too, because he feels that animals need other people to protect them when they won't hurt their beloved owners.
Ian is the type of guy you'd catch hanging around at his gym, the tattoo parlor, or at a club/bar. He likes to have a good time and drink a little, though he only gets drunk when he's at his apartment with Winston, his orange tabby cat. But, if there's a house party, you can guarantee that he's going to show up, invited or not.
When it comes to the ladies, Ian is successful in his endeavors. While he doesn't try to sleep with them, he does show them how they should be treated. He loves playing guitar and singing for a girl he likes, and will even write poems and little love notes. He's a total sweetheart, but can sometimes be a heart breaker.
He's stubborn at times, and when he gets stubborn, there's no phasing him. He'll get an idea in his head, and there's no changing his mind. He usually suffers consequences for this, and it's how he usually messes up his relationships.
fears;; Losing his cat, becoming a bad father and husband, losing his gym
goals;; Own his gym for the rest of his life, get married and have kids, own 2 Dodge Challengers
quirks;; Ian is the type of guy that simply has that face. The fact that everyone seems to know and like. People tend to migrate towards Ian naturally, with little to no effort at all on his part. Perhaps it's the crooked grin he wears so casually, or maybe it's the way he talks like he knows everyone. He's a major socialite when it all comes down to it. As well, he tends to cross his legs at his ankles any time he sits down, whereas most men hardly cross their legs at all. Another habit of his is his chivalry. He holds the door open for women, but don't be surprised if he lets it swing shut right behind her, no matter who is following - unless it's another woman, of course. He goes out of his way to be a gentleman, and doesn't really think about it. He's just chivalrous by nature, and it developed into a good habit.
secret;; My parents think I tried to kill my little sister and still don't know I'm out of prison.
family and friends;; (Mother): Grace Holloway (Father): Richard Holloway (Little sister): Anabelle Holloway - 4
history;; Ian grew up in a rather rich household by Richard and Grace Rhode. Richard has owned a multi-million dollar corporation in Las Vegas for as long as Ian can remember. His parents were high school sweethearts, and had always had a very light, friendly relationship. Ian's home was a happy home. His father was a gentleman, and taught Ian well. His mother was a lady, and taught him about the types of women that would do him good in his life. Ever since, he's been picky about the ladies he chooses to be with romantically.
All throughout elementary and high school, Ian was popular among the teachers and staff. He had good manners, and seemed to get along with everybody. No matter gender, age, social status, or stereotype. He was simply a people person. While he didn't make the best grades, he was known for his friendly, fun nature and chivalrous attitude. His parents received a lot of praise from those who'd meet Ian throughout his life. Even his ex-girlfriends couldn't deny that he was the best boyfriend they'd had. However, all of his ex-girlfriends has one thing in common. They all left him for the same reason.
It wasn't jealousy, and it wasn't petty arguments. Ian had a rather large spark of his father in him. Overly-protective. Those he cared about became the ones that he protected fiercely, and he had cared about each lover during their time together, that it often times went too far. It would begin with pointless yelling from one man to the other, and then it become physically violent.
It was a warm summer day on the shopping side of Vegas. The outskirts of the playful city, rather, where it all just seemed to go wrong. Las Vegas had a bad criminal history. Ian, his father, and his mother were aware of that all the time. It only made sense that Ian would be more on his toes when his little sister, Anabelle, was born. Ian was eighteen, just getting ready to move out of his parents house with she came along, and Ian fell in love with her immediately, and he'd often times dreamed of a family of his own and was always wonderful with children. While at the market, a business man in a suit approached and began speaking to Ian's mother. Ian's hairs stood on end at the sight and presence of the man. When he touched Anabelle with the back of his hand gently, Ian's blood boiled, but he kept his cool.
Later that night, a noise stirred Ian in his sleep. He crept from his bedroom and immediately walked to Anabelle's nursery, where he saw the man standing in her room, holding her, talking to her. Ian balled his hands into fists and confronted the man, demanding to know what he was doing. When the man drew a gun and aimed it at Ian, Ian grabbed his hand, and thrust his elbow into the man's arm, hearing it snap. He snatched Anabelle before she could hit the floor and ran downstairs with her, stashing his sister in his room, she cried loudly. Ian was braced in front of his door when his parents came barreling down the stairs. Ian's father threw Ian to the side with a hard push, before shouting loudly in Ian's face as his mother ran to grab Anabelle. They thought Ian was trying to kill Anabelle, as the man had left as soon as Ian ran for the stairs, and was gone without a single trace left behind. Ian was arrested and served four years before finally getting out. When he released, he took a bus straight to Havanna. His parents still don't know of his release.
pets;; Winston - Orange Tabby Cat - Male - 3
It was nice to finally have Sabine at Franklin. She was still as animated as ever, and to Ian's ultimate joy, had taken a liking to Victoria. Honestly, he'd been worried that the two wouldn't get along at first. But, it seemed just the opposite. Then again, Ian should have probably know that. Sabine didn't turn anyone away. It wasn't in her nature.
For the moment, the two sat on the couch as Sabine flipped through television channels, talking animatedly about some movie she'd seen a few nights ago. Ian was laughing at something she said when his phone rang. Sabine seemed uninterested and immediately turned back to the t.v., leaving it on The Big Bang Theory.
Ian sighed and grabbed his phone off of the coffee table, unlocking it and checking the message. He sat up as he re-read the message. He read it four more times before replying. Alright... Are you okay, hun?" He texted. He leaned back into the couch and listened as Sabine cracked open a sunflower seed and dropped the hull in her almost empty Dr. Pepper bottle. It was only thirty minutes later that Ian's phone went off again. Another message from Victoria, and no acknowledgement of his last message. "Yo. I'll be right back. Stay here." Ian said to Sabine as he stood up, grabbing his jacket."Where are you going?' Sabine demanded. Ian shook his head. "Victoria wants to talk to me alone." He said. Sabine gave him a confused look before Ian turned his back on her.
Ian slipped into the black leather before opening the door, locking it behind him. He was cautious when it came to Sabine, and that meant locking the doors any time she was alone. He'd die if anything happened to her. He moved down the steps from his apartment and caught view of Victoria's car over the railing. He walked up to her, head down, hand in pockets. His breath was visible in the cold night air. "Hey, what's going on?" He asked, his eyes glancing over her face, showing concern in his blue eyes.
